A New Year’s Tradition
Ever since my kids were young, I’ve been taking them to view the Rose Parade floats. We always watch the building and decorating of the South Pasadena float and have volunteered a couple times. We’ve even been stuck in traffic behind one of the floats as they’re driven down the city streets.
Around 11pm on New Year’s Eve, we bundle up in warm clothing and head out to Orange Grove Boulevard. There’s always a crowd. This is where we usually celebrate the New Year, drinking champagne on the sidewalk. I guess I start off every year with a 3 mile walk. Too bad I don’t walk that much on a regular basis throughout the year.
